Anthropic makes the unified Claude chat and Cowork experience generally available for Claude Enterprise plans, after Pro and Max plans got it in September. Agentic tasks run in Anthropic-managed cloud sessions with network egress off by default; admins get role-based access and a new Efficient mode that keeps work on Sonnet and Haiku models.
Apollo Global Management chief economist Torsten Slok says AI has delivered "zero financial payoff" to corporations outside tech. In a recent note, Slok cites flat profit margins and revenue per worker across the S&P 493 and argues AI lacks judgment on accountability and trust.
Anthropic makes Claude Models on Google Cloud (Anthropic managed) generally available, giving Google Cloud customers the full Claude Platform feature set with Google Cloud IAM credentials, a single invoice, and commitment drawdown. Anthropic says new features ship the same day as on its native platform. Fast Mode on Claude Opus 5.5 is included, priced at $8 per million input tokens and $40 per million output tokens.
Anthropic says its updated Claude Security, in public beta for Claude Enterprise customers, now rescans repositories as code changes and marks findings fixed when fixes ship. The tool adds an API, an MCP connector, and role-based access controls. Anthropic offers $25,000 in monthly usage credits for two months, through Dec. 31, 2026.
Ramp built Laminar, its own agent harness, rather than depending on a single model provider's managed agent API, engineer Sam Kronick says. The v1 took six weeks and now runs every agentic product at Ramp. It stores sessions in PostgreSQL and orchestrates work with Temporal, keeping agents model-agnostic.
Anthropic publishes 11 open-source plugins that give Claude Cowork role-specific skills, slash commands, and connectors for jobs such as sales, finance, legal, and data. The Apache-2.0 repository pairs plugins with tools including Slack, HubSpot, and Snowflake, and users install them from claude.com/plugins. The company says teams can edit the markdown and JSON files to fit their own processes.
Microsoft adds Guardian Agents to Project Perception, monitoring enterprise AI agents for insider-threat behavior. Security chief Hayete Gallot says frontier models cannot be trusted because they are unpredictable. Microsoft Defender now detects up to 60 agent types, including Claude Code and Codex, and can require human approval for risky actions.
Meta engineers Plawan Rath, Akhil Jindal, and Ashwini Verma report that a 1,300-line thin orchestrator routes more than 20 workflows to 14 specialized agents and performs no domain work itself. Meta says the setup cuts new-column configuration prep from three to four days by hand to under an hour. The design isolates context and contains failures.
Town raises a $108 million Series B co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures, giving the San Francisco AI assistant startup a unicorn valuation four months after its public launch. Founder and former Plaid CTO Jean-Denis Greze's company has raised at least $160 million. It sells employee AI assistants called Townies.
Anthropic says junior technical hiring fell to 9% of technical hires from 27% since early 2025, while AI agent work hours outnumbered employee hours six to one by August. The company reported output per engineer rose fivefold and managers now weigh autonomy and judgment over domain expertise.
