Meta Says Muse Voice Calls and Video Chat Open to All US Users
Summary
Meta says Muse Voice is now available to everyone in the U.S., letting users call and video chat with its animated Muse AI avatar on mobile, web, and Mac. The feature, shown at Meta's September Connect conference, uses Muse Realtime Avatar and Realtime Voice models. Meta plans a Tamagotchi-like Muse Charm wearable before year-end.
Key Points
- Meta chief AI officer Alexandr Wang announces the rollout in a blog post and on X with a demo of his fluffy white dog avatar.
- Meta says the avatar, nicknamed Jolly, makes "subtle expressions and gestures" that match the tone of a conversation.
- Meta says the calls later extend to its AI Glasses and the Muse Charm wearable, which shows the avatar on a small screen.
