Opera introduces WebAI, an early preview in Opera One that runs AI models locally in the browser. It supports open-weight models including Google's Gemma, and Apple's on-device model on Macs. Opera says processing stays on the device, and users must opt in.
Anthropic launches Claude Duet, an agent for professionals and small businesses, in research preview on iOS, Android, and Claude.ai for Pro and Max customers. The company says Duet runs tasks in its own virtual machine, connects to more than 6,000 marketplace connectors, and requires approval for payments. It will not trade securities or move money between accounts.
Gemini Notebook added a Review toggle that lets users inspect and edit outline notes for Slide Decks and producer notes for Video Overviews before rendering. Product managers Viraj Doshi and Shan Wang said the co-creation flow suggests topics from a user's sources and rolls out globally to all users over the coming week.
Ansub Khan releases tv-detox, an open-source home screen that turns off bloatware and ads on older Android TVs, with Claude Code or Codex running the setup. Since v1.4.1 the installer keeps Google TV's own home screen on by default, after a Chromecast got stuck restarting and needed a factory reset. Disabled apps are not deleted.
Qualcomm chief executive Cristiano Amon says AI companies are asking for phones that can run 100-billion-parameter models by 2028, running all the time. He would not name them, and cites ByteDance's Doubao phone by Nubia. Amon blames memory prices up five to six times for a 20% drop in the phone market this year.
Apple launched HomeView, its first smart home display, on Tuesday, priced at $299 for both the speaker-base and wall-mounted versions. The 7-inch screen recognizes up to six users, and Siri, powered by Apple Intelligence, personalizes replies from Messages, Calendar, and FaceTime. Siri can also chain multistep requests.

DigUp ships Windows and Linux beta builds of its on-device semantic file search, joining the existing Mac app. The open source tool runs Google DeepMind's EmbeddingGemma 2, a 740M-parameter model, to find photos, PDFs, audio and video by meaning. The 865 MB model downloads once and stays local.
Google says Gemini 4 Argon is now in the Gemini app, with more direct answers, coding help, and Antigravity's agentic coding interface in the macOS app. Access goes to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Gemini connects to more than 40 apps, including Instacart, OpenTable and Shopify.
